Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Yangon (D)
Welcome to Myanmar - an amazing country of magnificent pagodas and alluring culture. Today, meet our local tour guide and driver at the airport then we transfer to the hotel. After settling into your hotel, enjoy your own time and relax.
In the afternoon, visit the marble LawkachantharAbayalarba muni Buddha image in Kyauktawgyi Pagoda. Next up, soak into the lively China Town which is filled with colorful fruit markets. Then your guide also takes you to Sule Pagoda- the 2500-year-old pagoda located dramatically in the heart of Yangon. Marvel at the massive 66 meters long Reclining Buddha in Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda and learn more about the special symbols on the feet of the image where locals often gather for paying homage.
In the late afternoon, highlight your city tour at Shwedagon Pagoda, the most famous pagoda in Myanmar that has uncountable history and source of Burma's heritage. Enjoying a welcome dinner with a culture show at Karaweik Hall, one of the most beautiful landmarks in Yangon. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon – Fly to Mandalay – Sagaing (B)
Early morning today, we travel to Mandalay by plane. Then take a full day to explore the cultural city by visiting Mahamuni Pagoda, home to the country's most highly revered Buddha image; Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, a Buddhist temple enshrining a great marble Buddha image; Shwenandaw Monastery (Golden Palace), which used to be a part of the Royal Palace; Kuthodaw Pagoda, well-known as the world's largest book carved out of 729 blocks of marble.
Stop for lunch then we drive to SagaingHill, which is known as the living center of the Buddhist faith in Myanmar today. Hillsides are dotted with numerous Pagodas and Monasteries. Continue to visit Khaungmudaw Pagoda and enjoy the sunset from Sagaing Hill. Return to Mandalay at the end of the day. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 3: Mandalay – Mingun – Fly to Yangon(B, L)
After breakfast, we take a boat trip along the Ayeyarwaddy River to visit Mingun village which is located on the west bank of the river. Visiting Settawya Pagoda, a small tranquil pagoda enshrining a marble footprint of Buddha. Take leisure walks to Mingun Pahtotawgyi, a massive unfinished pagoda built intendedly to be the largest pagoda in the world.
Continue stroll through Mingun Bell, the world's second-largest ringing bell, and Myatheintan Pagoda, or Hsinbyume Pagoda, an impressive white temple that resembles the shape of Mount Meru. That will bring you so much happiness for receiving the pleasure that you can never get in sophisticated countries.
Later today, we transfer back to the airport to take the flight to Yangon.
Day 4: Yangon Departure (B)
We spend our last minutes exploring the Treasure, Germs, and Handicraft shops or the BogyokAung San (Scott) market (it may be closed when visiting time on Monday) before transferring to the airport for your departure flight. If you want to purchase some interesting Burmese handicrafts, we are happy to assist you and help you to buy items at a reasonable price. (Note: the market is closed on Mondays and the gazette holidays). Trip ends.
