Pitakataik is one of the most amazing places in Mrauk U that is actually worth a visit. It is close to Htupayon Pagoda and was erected by King Min Phalaung. Unlike other pagodas, Pitakataik is totally constructed with stone, making it stand out of the crowd.
Ornamented with ornate floral, coupled with uniquely geometric design, Pitakataik has become a destination of visitors’ interest. Measuring 9 feet in high, 14 feet running from east to west and 10 feet from north to south, Pitakataik is almost like a blooming lotus from a far distance. Actually, the simple beauty of the pagoda always mesmerizes visitors, especially first-timers.
Taking Burma tours to Mrauk U, there are 48 libraries in total; however, the only one that exists with time is this one. It has been well-preserved to be one of the most popular places in the region. The library is home to 30 sets of Buddhist Tipitaka that has been kept from King Narapatigyi (1638-1645).
