The structure of the states and regions
The state of Myanmar built according to federal institutions, including seven regions (divisions) and seven states. Region is an administrative region which is concentration of population. State is the administrative area has many ethnic minorities. The name of State is the name the largest ethnic minority in the state.
The seven areas are: Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magwe, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi, Sagaing.
Seven states including the Shan, Chin, Kachin, Rakhine, Mon, Kayin, Kayah.
The regions and states have equal rights. Head of state is the region's premier.
"Autonomous region" can be recognized in each region. This is the land where a certain number of ethnic communities living under certain boundary, with a population of conformity. If the ethnic had a region or state, then there is not Autonomous Region anymore. For example, the seven largest ethnic Shan, Chin, Kachin, Rakhine, Mon, Kayin, Kayah have respective states so they will not have its own autonomous region.

Based on population and living area, the autonomous region will be accordingly called "Autonomous subdivision " or "autonomous region". All regions, states, autonomous regions, autonomous zones, are not allowed to secede from the Union.
