The New Gen Airways of Bangkok has inaugurated direct flights from Don Muang Airport in the Thai capital Bangkok to the picturesque coastal town of Myeik. The new route will be served three times a week with the price under 180$.
It has launched with the co-operation of Myanmar partner at local Tun Htaik Tin Company. In a statement of the airline, they believe in the strong tourism potential of Myeik as the way to the islands off the Andaman coast and want to support the development of this area.
Myeik is a coastal city in Tanintharyi, Southern Myanmar. It is a fascinated and picturesque town, an amazing place for excursions to explore the life of the people living in remote villages. With the growing tourism development in Southern Myanmar, a variety of trips from Myeik to the archipelago are offered by local operators. The duration of the trips can be a day to nearby islands for snorkeling and visiting fishing villages or multi-day excursions to the archipelago. A typical 2-day Mergui archipelago tour includes activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, and hiking on the islands. There are two options for accommodation: living on boat or camping on some islands of the archipelago.
