Mingun Bell is the largest ringing bell in the world which is located in Sagaing and absolutely can ring. The city of Sagaing is quite different from Mandalay. It is 26 feet high and weighs 90.55 metric tons.
You can absolutely ring it and take photos with it when visiting Sagaing. It must be a unique experience you have ever had in the world.
The Largest Underwater Bell in the World
The Great Bell of Dhammazedi is considered as the largest or the heaviest bell in the world, it now is still underwater. It was cast by King Dhammazedi of Myanmar in Yangon and was donated to Shwedagon Pagoda. The giant bell removed by Portugal colonialism and moved to Thanlyin (Syrium) across Dawpone River where both giant bell and the boat sank together.
Largest Reclining Buddha
Chaukhtatgyi Buddha is the largest reclining Buddha in the world. It is located on Shwegondine Road, this colossal (70 meters long) reclining Buddha is one of the largest images in Myanmar. The original image was built in 1907. But it has suffered damage due to climate over the years. In 1957 it was demolished and rebuilt to this structure in 1966.
Shwethalyaung Buddha
The Shwethalyaung, a colossal reclining statue of Buddha (181 feet [55 m] long), is to the west of the modern town and is reputedly one of the most lifelike of all the reclining Buddha figures; allegedly built in AD-994, it was lost when Bago (Pegu) was destroyed in 1757 but was rediscovered under a cover of jungle growth in 1881.
Shwethalyaung Buddha is the second largest reclining Buddha.
Largest Book on Earth
Buddhist scriptures were engraved on 729 white marble tablets and are regarded by Myanmar Buddhists as orthodox texts. Authorized by King Mindon as a result of the Fifth Buddhist Council, the tablets are set up in a square, each being protected by a small temple. The 730th pagoda is a conventional temple occupying the center of the square. Each marble tablets are about 3' wide and 4' height.
It is known as Kuthodaw Phayar, situated at the foot of Mandalay Hill, Mandalay.
The Genius Monk
The Man who could learn the whole CD-Rom-full of Buddhist Bible by heart is called U Wiseiktha Tharar Biwuntha from Myanmar. He was a well-known Buddhist monk and the first man in history who could learn the whole CD-Rom-full of Buddhist scriptures by heart. He passed away in 1994.
