May seems to be not the month of festival in Myanmar as a few festivals hold over the country. The most impressive religious festival is Bodhi Tree Water in temples across the country.
Kason - Watering Bodhi Tree Festival

Location: at all pagodas and temples in Myanmar
Meaning: The festival is celebrated to date back to Gautama Buddha’s life time. According to legends, about 2,500 years ago, Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment sitting in the shade underneath a Bodhi tree in Northern India.
This ritual celebrated to memory 2,500 years ago, when the Buddha meditated to attain enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. The pilgrims watering Bodhi tree in the temples in summer of May.
Many pilgrims across Myanmar will gather in the numerous Buddhist pagodas to go deep into the spiritual atmosphere in Bodhi Tree Watering festival.
During the festival, Buddhists will water the roots of Bodhi trees in temples in a merit-making ritual. Pilgrims will form long processions in the tree and splash a few ounces of water on the tree to celebrate Gautama Buddha’s enlightenment.
