June approaches with a significant change of weather in Myanmar when summer makes way for the south-west monsoon. The temperature decreases and the rain is in the air, so the chance of taking showers outdoor is very high. Temperatures are still in the low to mid 30’s°C in the central plains to the south of Mandalay, so these places are hottest and driest of the country.
Elsewhere the mercury tends to hover around 30°C, so still far from chilly! In fact, despite the closing of most beach resorts by mid-June as they prepare for the less favorable weather expected in the coming months, this is a good time to travel to Myanmar as the weather can remain relatively dry and the sky-high temperatures are subdued. The average temperature ranges from 25°C to 30°C.
