Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism, Dr. Thet Thet Khine, met with Mrs. Prabashini Ponnamperuma, the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar, at the ministry’s reception hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon. They openly discussed topics including mutual visits to tourist destinations in both countries, the development of religious and cultural tourism between Myanmar and Sri Lanka, direct flights, the creation of Buddhist circuit pilgrimage tours connecting Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, and the continuation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for tourism cooperation. They also agreed to hold online meetings to enhance government-private tourism collaboration. Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe, along with senior officials, attended the meeting. — MNA/TS
